Lost Baby Dragons & Roald Dahl Day!
Hedgehogs have been so busy learning this week. To celebrate Roald Dahl Day, we have read the story ‘Colours’ by Roald Dahl. We have learnt how to change colours by mixing primary colours using a variety of materials. We used shaving gel and paint to explore how colour changes when adding two colours together. For snack we made we made fruit kebabs, choosing our favourite fruit and carefully using one handed tools and learning how to be careful with cutting equipment.
Following our topic ‘Do dragons exist?’ the children worked together to make a dragon lair, helped count the gummy bears for the dragon’s food.
We learnt how to follow instructions to balance and jump and move in a variety of ways.
We have been busy comparing weight and learning what is heavy or light.
We have copied patterns in the sand.
We have read both topic books and chosen a book to read during circle time. We chose ‘Shark in the Park!’ And we made our own telescopes to use whilst listening to the story! What a busy week we have had.
We had such a wonderful day today! Dragon lost his baby dragons and we helped to find all 10 dragons! We even met Dragon who was hiding in the tree
